The Minister announced that a comprehensive railway upgradation program, backed by an investment of approximately $2 billion, is targeted for completion by December 2026.<\/p>\n<hr data-path-to-node=\"2\" \/>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"3\"><b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Railway Reforms and Tourism Innovation<\/b><\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">The Minister unveiled several key initiatives aimed at modernizing the rail network and improving passenger experience:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"5\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Safari Train Launch:<\/b> The Safari Train has been transformed into a premier tourism model, featuring AC coaches, new seating, and family-friendly environments. The route includes curated activities and extended stops for lunch at scenic locations like Attock Khurd to boost local tourism.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Track and Infrastructure Upgrades:<\/b> A track upgradation project worth 250 billion PKR is currently underway in the Lahore Division. The broader infrastructure goal aims to reduce travel time between Lahore and Karachi by 5 hours. Furthermore, a new maintenance system for locomotives is being introduced to address long-standing mechanical issues.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Provincial Partnerships:<\/b> Collaborative efforts are increasing, with plans to launch DMU trains on nine routes in partnership with the Punjab government under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz.
