The data suggests a near-total failure of food outlets to meet the prescribed safety and quality benchmarks.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"2\"><b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">March 2026 Inspection Data: A Grim Reality<\/b><\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">Between March 1 and March 31, 2026, IFA Food Safety teams conducted rigorous inspections across various sectors of Islamabad. The results of the <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"145\">1,618 food points<\/b> visited are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"4\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Compliance Rate:<\/b> Out of 1,618 outlets, <b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"39\">only 1<\/b> was found to be fully compliant with quality standards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Non-Compliance:<\/b> An overwhelming <b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"32\">1,617 units<\/b> were found to be substandard or in violation of health regulations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Enforcement Actions:<\/b> * <b data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"23\">Units Sealed:<\/b> 24 units were immediately sealed due to severe health violations.<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"4,2,1\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,2,1,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,2,1,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Fines Imposed:<\/b> Financial penalties were levied at 08 locations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,2,1,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,2,1,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Legal Action:<\/b> FIRs (First Information Reports) were registered against 04 individuals for criminal negligence.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Corrective Measures:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"4,3,1\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,3,1,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,3,1,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">720 outlets<\/b> received formal Improvement Notices.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,3,1,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,3,1,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">865 outlets<\/b> were issued verbal instructions for minor rectifications.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,4,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Sampling and Licensing:<\/b> 58 food samples were collected for laboratory testing, while 205 new licenses were issued during the month.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"5\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Authority\u2019s Stance on Food Safety<\/b><\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">A spokesperson for the Islamabad Food Authority stated that the department remains steadfast in its mission to ensure the provision of safe and high-quality food to citizens.
