The Chief Minister revealed that while <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"228\">19,808 schools<\/b> across the province were affected by the catastrophe, the government is currently reconstructing or repairing <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"353\">5,314 schools<\/b> through provincial, federal, and international donor-funded programs, aiming to restore facilities for over <b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"475\">1.4 million students<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\">Minister for Education <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"23\">Sardar Shah<\/b> and Chief Secretary <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"55\">Asif Hyder Shah<\/b> briefed the meeting on the multi-tiered recovery strategy. Out of the active projects, <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"158\">2,114 schools<\/b> have already been completed through various financial arrangements. The provincial Annual Development Program (ADP) is handling <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"300\">2,405 schools<\/b>, with <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"320\">617<\/b> already finished and the remainder scheduled for completion by June 2027. Additionally, the Maintenance and Repair (M&amp;R) programs for the cycles of 2022-23 and 2024-25 have successfully restored <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"519\">938 schools<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\"><b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Key Progress and Funding Portfolios:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"4\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">International Support:<\/b> Partnerships with the <b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"45\">European Union<\/b> and <b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"64\">UNICEF<\/b> have already restored <b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"93\">173 schools<\/b>, while projects backed by <b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"131\">JICA, DEEP, SELECT,<\/b> and <b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"155\">ASPIRE<\/b> are ongoing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Federal Contribution:<\/b> Under the Federal Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), <b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"82\">481 destroyed schools<\/b> are being rebuilt, with <b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"128\">37<\/b> completed and the rest expected by December 2026.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Major Investments:<\/b> A massive <b data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"29\">Rs167 billion<\/b> has been earmarked for large-scale reconstruction, of which <b data-path-to-node=\"4,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"103\">Rs63.95 billion<\/b> has already been utilized.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Regional Impact and Priorities:<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">The Chief Minister reviewed division-wise data to ensure equitable resource distribution. <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"122\">Hyderabad Division<\/b> remains the most affected with <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"172\">1,254 schools<\/b> damaged, followed closely by <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"215\">Larkana (1,218)<\/b> and <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"235\">Sukkur (1,070)<\/b>. At the district level, <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"274\">Khairpur<\/b> faced the heaviest losses with <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"314\">730 schools<\/b> impacted.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">CM Murad Ali Shah emphasized that every damaged school represents a barrier to a child\u2019s future. He directed the School Education &amp; Literacy Department to prioritize the most severely hit districts and ensure that all ongoing projects meet their <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"246\">mid-2027 completion deadlines<\/b>.
