Speaking after Sunday Mass in Vatican City, the Pope said that, on behalf of Christians and all men and women in the region, he urges those responsible for the escalation to stop the conflict.<\/p>\n
He stated that people across the region have been suffering severely since the war began two weeks ago, with thousands reportedly killed and large numbers displaced from their homes. He prayed for those who have lost loved ones in attacks on schools, hospitals, and residential areas.<\/p>\n
Pope Leo XIII emphasized that violence can never bring justice, stability, or peace, and called for the opening of doors to dialogue and negotiations as the path toward lasting resolution.<\/p>\n
Expressing particular concern over the situation in Lebanon, he described the conditions there as extremely volatile and expressed hope that diplomatic efforts would help establish sustainable peace and bring relief to the Lebanese people.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the United States and Israel continue military operations against Iran, while Iran has also carried out retaliatory actions targeting Israeli territory and U.S. military installations in the region. The ongoing exchanges have intensified since the attacks on Iran began on February 28, contributing to significant casualties and widespread instability.<\/p>\n
