KARACHI (HRNW):<\/b> Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab<\/b> has announced the establishment of a new cemetery in the city to address the growing difficulties faced by citizens. Recognizing the acute shortage of burial space in existing graveyards, the Mayor stated that this new project is a priority to provide much-needed relief to the residents of the metropolitan city.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media, Murtaza Wahab emphasized that most of the city’s older cemeteries have reached full capacity, leading to significant distress for grieving families. He noted that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is fast-tracking the identification of suitable land and the completion of legal formalities to ensure the project begins without delay. The new cemetery is expected to feature modern infrastructure, including proper boundary walls, paved walkways, and designated prayer areas to facilitate funeral rites.<\/p>\n

The Mayor further added that the Sindh Government and KMC are working in coordination to improve municipal services across the board. Citizens have widely welcomed the move, as the scarcity of space in current graveyards has often led to unauthorized charges and logistical hurdles. This initiative is seen as a crucial step toward streamlining burial services and ensuring that citizens have access to affordable and accessible facilities within the city limits.<\/p>\n
