ISLAMABAD: (HRNW)<\/b>Pakistan\u2019s national space agency, SUPARCO, has released its technical data regarding the birth of the Shawwal moon, suggesting that the holy month of Ramadan is likely to last 30 days this year. According to SUPARCO, the new moon is expected to be born at 6:23 AM on March 19. By sunset that evening, the moon\u2019s age will be approximately 12 hours and 41 minutes, making the chances of a sighting on the evening of March 19 extremely low.<\/p>\n

Based on these astronomical calculations, SUPARCO expects Eid-ul-Fitr to be celebrated on March 21. However, the agency clarified that the official announcement regarding the moon sighting and the commencement of Eid will be made exclusively by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.<\/p>\n

In coordination with these forecasts, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has summoned its meeting for March 19 in Islamabad to sight the Shawwal crescent. The session will be chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and will include prominent religious scholars from all schools of thought, along with representatives from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and other relevant scientific institutions.<\/p>\n
