KARACHI: (HRNW)\u00a0<\/b>Serious allegations of corruption and embezzlement have surfaced against the Station House Officer (SHO) of Jamshed Quarters, Irfan Mayo, regarding the recovery of foreign currency. According to sources within the department, approximately $12,600<\/b> in US dollars was recovered from suspects during a recent police operation. However, it is alleged that $10,000<\/b> of the seized amount was surreptitiously “dumped” or misappropriated, with plans reportedly in place to officially document a recovery of only $2,600.<\/p>\n

Insiders claim that the missing funds were allegedly kept by the officer as a self-styled “Eid gift” (Eidi). Furthermore, a Toyota Corolla seized during the same raid was reportedly found fitted with a fake number plate belonging to an Alto car, adding another layer of irregularity to the operation. In his defense, SHO Irfan Mayo has maintained that only $2,600 was recovered from the suspects and that legal proceedings are being finalized based on that specific amount.<\/p>\n

Contradicting the official stance, high-level sources insist the actual recovery exceeded $12,500.
