Hyderabad ( HRNW)<\/strong> \u2013 Acting President of the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry (HCSTSI), Ahmed Idrees Chohan, has expressed deep concern over the rising traffic problems in the city during the holy month of Ramadan. He stated that especially during Seher (pre-dawn) and Iftar (sunset) times, severe traffic jams have become a common occurrence on the city\u2019s main roads, causing significant difficulties for both citizens and the business community.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that Badin Stop and Hala Naka, the main entry points of Hyderabad, experience unusually heavy congestion, which not only affects the inflow and outflow at these locations but also disrupts the traffic system across the entire city. Long queues of vehicles form during shopping rush hours before Iftar, creating serious problems for ambulances, patients, and fasting citizens.<\/p>\n

Ahmed Idrees Chohan further noted that traffic flow in various markets and on main roads is severely affected due to illegal encroachments, improper parking, and unorganized street vendors. In particular, the lack of proper parking arrangements near commercial areas forces vehicles to park on the roads, further hampering traffic movement.<\/p>\n

He urged the district administration, traffic police, and municipal authorities to implement an emergency traffic management plan during Ramadan to provide relief to the citizens. Additional traffic personnel should be deployed at key entry and exit points, especially Badin Stop and Hala Naka, to improve traffic flow.<\/p>\n

For a long-term solution, he proposed several measures, including the establishment of modern parking plazas near major commercial areas, designated parking zones around markets, regular operations against encroachments, and strict enforcement of traffic laws. He emphasized that introducing structured parking facilities would significantly reduce the city\u2019s traffic problems.<\/p>\n

The Acting President added that Ramadan is a month of patience, tolerance, and worship; therefore, it is essential to take immediate and effective steps to prevent unnecessary difficulties for the public, allowing citizens to perform their religious duties with comfort and ease. He expressed hope that the district administration and relevant authorities will take serious notice of this pressing issue and implement prompt measures.<\/p>\n
