Dhaka (HRNW)-\u00a0The Bangladeshi government has announced the closure of all public and private universities until Eid in response to the rising prices of petroleum products and the ongoing energy crisis.<\/p>\n
According to officials, the decision aims to save electricity and fuel amid regional tensions in the Middle East. Universities across the country will remain closed from today, effectively starting Eid holidays ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n
Authorities explained that this measure will reduce electricity consumption and traffic congestion, as campuses, hostels, classrooms, laboratories, and air conditioning systems consume significant energy. The early closure is expected to alleviate pressure on the national electricity grid.<\/p>\n
It is noted that public and private schools in Bangladesh are already closed during Ramadan, and now universities will also follow the same schedule until Eid.<\/p>\n
