Islamabad (HRNW)-\u00a0The federal government and the Punjab government have agreed on a fuel-saving policy and monitoring of petroleum product reserves to balance the supply and demand of petroleum products amid the ongoing war situation. Meanwhile, the Punjab government has ordered a strict crackdown on the hoarding of petroleum products.<\/p>\n
According to the Ministry of Finance, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to review the situation arising due to the war. The meeting also discussed the supply, demand, and reserves of petroleum products in Punjab.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, both sides agreed on implementing a petroleum conservation policy to maintain balance between supply and demand. Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of ensuring adequate diesel supply for agricultural purposes. It was also agreed that petroleum product reserves would be closely monitored.<\/p>\n
The Punjab Chief Minister directed authorities to launch a strict crackdown on the hoarding of petroleum products and instructed district administrations across Punjab to continuously monitor fuel supply. She also directed the PARA and Transport Departments to monitor the situation and take immediate action where necessary.<\/p>\n
Maryam Nawaz further directed that citizens should not face long queues at petrol pumps, and warned that selling petroleum products above the officially fixed price will not be tolerated anywhere in Punjab.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, officials also briefed the Chief Minister about existing reserves of petrol, diesel, LNG, and other fuel resources, highlighting that immediate steps for fuel conservation and efficient usage are essential due to the global crisis.<\/p>\n
Maryam Nawaz stated that the entire nation must show resilience in dealing with the current challenges, adding that timely decisions are crucial for maintaining economic stability and national security.<\/p>\n
