LAHORE (HRNW):<\/b> In a significant move toward judicial accountability, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed Civil Judge Ms. Naseem Akhtar Naz<\/b> from service following proven allegations of corruption and misconduct. The decision was formalized through a notification issued today by the Registrar of the Lahore High Court, Amjad Iqbal Ranjha.<\/p>\n

The disciplinary proceedings against Ms. Naz were initiated under the Punjab Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1999<\/b>. A designated inquiry officer conducted a thorough investigation into the complaints and concluded that the charges of financial corruption and administrative misconduct were substantiated by the evidence. Based on these findings, the inquiry officer recommended the imposition of a “major penalty,” specifically her dismissal from the judiciary.<\/p>\n

Before the final decision, Ms. Naz was provided with a full opportunity to present her defense and was granted a personal hearing. This hearing took place before Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf<\/b>, who reviewed the case and concurred with the inquiry officer\u2019s recommendations. After a collective review of the inquiry report and the hearing records by the Chief Justice and the honorable judges of the LHC, the court upheld the decision to dismiss her immediately.
