The grievances have reached a boiling point where the distribution of development work now seems dependent on specific &#8220;priority lists&#8221; held by the Ministry of Local Government.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"2\"><b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Minority Councilors Meet Nasir Hussain Shah<\/b><\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">A delegation of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Town and City Minority Councilors, led by Lal Chand Ukrani, President of the PPP Minority Wing Sindh, held a high-level meeting with the Provincial Minister for Local Government, Housing, and Town Planning, <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"252\">Syed Nasir Hussain Shah<\/b>. The delegation highlighted the following critical issues:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"4\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Infrastructure Collapse:<\/b> Urgent requests were made for the repair of roads and streets, alongside fixing chronic sewerage and water supply problems in minority-concentrated neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"4,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Lack of Cooperation:<\/b> The delegation requested the Minister to issue formal directives to Town Chairmen, alleging that they are currently not cooperating with minority councilors on local development projects.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"5\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Directives and the &#8220;Priority List&#8221;<\/b><\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">In response to these complaints, Minister Nasir Hussain Shah assured the delegation of his full support. During the meeting, he made several phone calls to Town Chairmen, instructing them to address the concerns of minority councilors immediately. However, the Minister also directed the delegation to provide a <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"312\">&#8220;priority list&#8221; of construction works<\/b> for their areas.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">This move has sparked concerns that development projects may continue to be managed through selective lists rather than a holistic administrative approach, leaving areas not included in the Minister\u2019s specific lists in a state of continued neglect.<\/p>\n<hr data-path-to-node=\"8\" \/>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Access to equitable development and minority rights reporting is vital for a balanced democracy.
