New York (HRNW)- The United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting in New York<\/span><\/span> to review the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres<\/span><\/span> delivered a strong warning during the session, stating that the world is approaching a serious international crisis. He emphasized that the UN Charter guarantees the sovereignty and security of all member states and that the use of force against any country is a violation of international law.<\/p>\n

Guterres condemned the recent actions of the United States<\/span><\/span> and Israel<\/span><\/span> against Iran<\/span><\/span>, saying the attacks allegedly endangered international peace and security. He also stated that reports claiming civilian casualties, including around 20 Iranian civilians, were deeply concerning if confirmed.<\/p>\n

The Secretary-General stressed that strict adherence to international law must be ensured and reiterated that peace can only be achieved through diplomatic dialogue, not military confrontation.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Israeli representatives also addressed circulating reports regarding the alleged assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei<\/span><\/span>, but Guterres maintained a cautious position, stating that no final confirmation was available.<\/p>\n

The representative of France<\/span><\/span> strongly condemned the attacks on Iran and urged the Security Council to create conditions for negotiations and regional peace.<\/p>\n
