Budapest (HRNW)– Hungary has rejected the European Union’s new migration package policy, saying it will neither pay additional financial penalties nor forcefully accept refugees.
The Hungarian government has expressed its strong stance, saying:
“Brussels is putting unfair pressure on Hungary. We will neither pay fines nor take refugees.”

EU officials have described Hungary’s decision as “open rebellion”, while Hungary maintains that the step was taken to protect its sovereignty.
According to political experts, Hungary’s move has raised fears of deepening existing differences within the European Union. The issue of migration has long been a sensitive political issue in the European Union, and Hungary’s strong reaction to the new policy is causing unrest throughout the block.
