Human Rights Commission Conducts Prison Inspection to Improve Inmate Welfare

Ludhiana – India (HRNW)A senior member of the Punjab State & Chandigarh Human Rights Commission carried out a comprehensive inspection of Ludhiana Central Jail, focusing on living conditions, sanitation, and access to healthcare for inmates and undertrial prisoners.

The official reviewed facilities ranging from sanitation and kitchens to medical services including tuberculosis and opioid treatment, and pressed authorities to enhance cleanliness, disaster preparedness, and basic rights protections for detainees.
