Karachi, Pakistan (HRNW) — In a chilling incident highlighting the severity of domestic abuse, Karachi Police rescued a woman found chained inside an apartment in Defence Phase 5. Acting on a distress call made to the 15 emergency helpline, police officers arrived at a residential building and forced entry into a third-floor apartment.
Inside the premises, officials discovered the victim bound with heavy chains. Police had to use cutters to break the metal links and free her. Preliminary investigations reveal that the woman, a resident of Shirin Jinnah Colony, had separated from her husband. She stated that her husband had lured her to the apartment under the pretext of providing financial support for their children’s expenses. Once she arrived, he reportedly restrained her in chains and fled the scene.
The Karachi Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect, conducting raids across various parts of the city.
