Historic Blizzard Hits Eastern US: Over 230,000 Lose Power, Thousands of Flights Canceled

Washington (HRNW)- A severe blizzard has swept across the eastern United States, leaving over 230,000 customers without electricity and causing massive flight disruptions. More than 4,000 flights were canceled on Saturday, with an additional 9,000 cancellations expected on Sunday as snow, hail, freezing rain, and extreme cold continue to batter the region.

US President Donald Trump has declared a federal state of emergency in 11 states, including South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina, calling the storm “historic.” Citizens have been urged to stay safe and stock up on essential supplies. Emergency powers have also been issued to maintain power stability in affected areas.
