High Security Alert in Lahore for First Friday of Shaban, Snipers Deployed at Sensitive Locations

Lahore (HRNW)- Security has been put on high alert across the city to ensure peace and order on the occasion of the first Friday prayer of Shaban-ul-Mu’azzam. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran has issued instructions to ensure strict security arrangements at the city’s entry and exit points and foolproof measures at important highways and sensitive places.

According to DIG Operations, snipers have been deployed at sensitive places, while 100 percent checking has been ordered at checkpoints. He gave clear instructions that no suspicious person or vehicle should be allowed to enter without being searched.

Additional personnel have been deployed around mosques and Imambargahs in view of Friday prayers. According to security data, complete security arrangements have been made at 218 category A mosques, 776 category B mosques and 4065 category C mosques. Instructions have also been given to make patrolling and patrolling around mosques and Imambargahs more effective.

DIG Faisal Kamran said that supervisory officers will be present in the field during Friday prayers and all officers and men deployed on security duty will be on full alert. Orders have also been issued to park vehicles and motorcycles at an appropriate distance around places of worship.

Dolphin Squad, PRU and patrolling units have been given the task of continuous patrolling around mosques. DIG Operations has appealed to the citizens to keep an eye on suspicious persons and activities and immediately report any danger on Helpline 15.
