According to Arab media reports, Netanyahu has been facing corruption cases for the past five years. In a letter to President Herzog, Trump described the allegations against Netanyahu as political and unfair, requesting that the Israeli leader be pardoned.

Responding to the request, Isaac Herzog stated:

“I respect President Trump’s friendship and opinion, but Israel is a sovereign country, and its legal system must be fully respected. This is certainly an extraordinary request. The welfare of the Israeli people is my first, second, and third priority.”

Herzog’s decision underscores the autonomy and integrity of Israel’s judiciary and is being viewed globally as a significant affirmation of the rule of law.
