Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman Condemns Corruption in Karachi, Calls for End of ‘Project PPP’ and Empowered Local Government

Karachi (HRNW)- Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has strongly criticized the establishment for spreading corruption in Karachi, demanding an end to “Project People’s Party” and “Project Bilawal.” Addressing a press conference at Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi’s central office, Idara Noor Haq, he said that following the Gul Plaza tragedy, the people of Karachi are deeply disappointed with the system, expressing anger and grief over the city becoming increasingly unlivable.

He stated that those responsible for imposing corrupt mafias on Karachi must be held accountable, including officials involved through the occupation mayor and Form 47. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said the Chief Minister of Sindh has no justification to remain in office and should resign immediately, admitting incompetence.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman stressed that the solution for Karachi’s problems lies not in provincial or federal control but in the establishment of an empowered local government according to the constitution. He criticized both federal and provincial governments for prioritizing financial gain over public welfare, highlighting inadequacies in firefighting resources, untrained personnel, incomplete city projects, and insufficient public transport. He emphasized that the city’s institutions, including LDA and MDA, are under provincial control, while the mayor and local rights of Jamaat-e-Islami have been undermined.

Announcing a “Jinne Do Karachi” march on February 1 at Shahra-e-Faisal, he stated the protest will target corrupt mafias and demand the city be freed from the Wadera Shahi system.

On international issues, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman condemned the Prime Minister’s praise of Trump, citing U.S. support for Israel and the targeting of Palestinians. He reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s stance of following Quaid-e-Azam’s views on Israel and emphasized the country’s Islamic ideology as stated in the Constitution.
