Gul Plaza Fire: Over 550,000 Gallons of Water Used as Firefighting Continues for 18 Hours in Karachi

Karachi (HRNW)- The focal person of Water Hydrants in Sher-e-Quaid has said that 550,000 gallons of water have been provided so far to control the severe fire in Gul Plaza.

The process of controlling the fire that broke out in Gul Plaza, a commercial center located on MA Jinnah Road in Karachi, is still ongoing after 18 hours, for which, according to the focal person Hydrants, more than 100 tankers of 2,000 and 3,000 gallons have been provided since last night.

The focal person said that water supply for the fire in Gul Plaza is still ongoing from Nipa, Safoora and Sakhi Hassan hydrants. The district administration also sought help from the Pakistan Airport Authority to extinguish the fire.

Meanwhile, Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan has said that the flames are no longer there but the intensity is still there. Efforts are being made to start relief operations after the rescue. He said that 12 fire tenders are currently at the scene, and the process of extinguishing the fire on the second and third floors is underway.
