Islamabad (HRNW)- The details of levy (tax) paid by the Pakistani people on purchasing petrol and diesel per liter have been revealed.
The federal government has announced a major reduction in the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days, i.e. until January 15, 2026. The price of petrol was reduced by Rs 10.28, after which its new price became Rs 253.17, while the new price of diesel was reduced by Rs 8.57 to Rs 257.08.
The government is collecting Rs 79.62 per liter as petroleum levy and Rs 2.50 per liter as climate support levy (environmental protection tax). Similarly, the petroleum levy on diesel remains at Rs 75.41 per liter and the oil marketing margin at Rs 7.87 per liter.
The inland freight margin on petrol has been increased by 81 paise to Rs 8.97 per litre. The oil marketing margin has been maintained at Rs 7.87 and the dealer margin at Rs 8.64 per litre. Climate support levy on petrol is also being collected at the rate of Rs 2.50 per litre.
