Lahore (HRNW)- Chief Minister of Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, while addressing the students of the National Workshop Balochistan, said that the future of Pakistan is in the hands of the students and my becoming the first female Chief Minister is a matter of pride for all the daughters of Pakistan.
She said that Punjab has always kept the doors of its heart open to every citizen of the country, regardless of which province they belong to. Mothers, sisters and daughters are now safe because the police arrive immediately when the panic button is pressed, and the crime rate has significantly decreased.
Maryam Nawaz said that people from all provinces of the country are benefiting from the hospitals, colleges and universities of Punjab and no citizen is discriminated against on the basis of being Sindhi, Punjabi, Balochi, Kashmiri, Gilgit or Pashtun.
She said that Shehbaz Sharif had created the first Safe City in Lahore and now the Safe City system has been implemented in the whole of Punjab. The current PMLN government is spending public money on the people and good governance is being demonstrated in practice in Punjab.
In the past, incidents of crime, rape and murder were common, but Alhamdulillah, now the crime rate has come down from 100 to 30 percent. The Chief Minister said that 25,000 houses have been built for homeless families and the target of building 500,000 houses will be achieved in the next five years.
Maryam Nawaz also emphasized that the appointment of any officer is not based on recommendation, but the selection of VC, Secretary, DC and Commissioners is done after panel interviews.
In conclusion, the Chief Minister encouraged the students to play their full role in the development of the country through hard work and knowledge.
