Former Indian Senator Shanta Chhetri Criticizes Modi Government, Calls Foreign Policy a Failure

New Delhi (HRNW)- Former Indian politician and senator Shanta Chhetri has sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, describing it as increasingly isolated on the global stage due to internal political turmoil and mismanaged foreign policy.

Chhetri stated that, contrary to the Modi government’s high-profile claims, India is grappling with serious political, economic, and diplomatic challenges. Rising taxes, high unemployment, and inflation are placing heavy burdens on citizens, while foreign policy decisions appear disconnected from on-ground realities.

He cited recent developments, including US-imposed trade tariffs on India and India’s withdrawal from strategic projects like the Chabahar port, as examples of failures in Indian diplomacy and international negotiations.

Chhetri emphasized that these issues have raised serious questions about India’s economic and strategic position, urging the government to reconsider its approach.
