First Supermoon of 2026 to Light Up Pakistan’s Sky Tonight

Karachi/Islamabad (HRNW)- The first supermoon of 2026 will appear in the sky tonight, making the full moon appear larger and brighter than usual. The supermoon will begin in Pakistan at 5:51 pm.

According to the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SPARCO), this supermoon will appear about 6 to 7 percent larger than a normal moon. This supermoon is also traditionally called the “Wolf Moon”.

According to astronomers, the most beautiful and captivating view of the supermoon will be seen at the time of moonrise, in the early part of the night, when the moon is more prominent due to its proximity to the horizon.

Experts say that this supermoon will be the last supermoon in the series of supermoons that began in October 2025. Scientifically, a supermoon appears when the moon comes closer to the Earth than its normal distance, due to which it appears larger and brighter than usual.
