Field Marshal Asim Munir Conferred Saudi Arabia’s Highest National Honour During Official Visit

Rawalpindi (HRNW)-Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS and CDF, met with the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, during an official visit to the Kingdom.

During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, including regional security dynamics, defence and military cooperation, strategic collaboration, and emerging geopolitical challenges. The engagement reaffirmed the deep-rooted, historic, and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Under a Royal Decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was conferred the King Abdulaziz Medal (Excellent Class), the highest national honour of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The prestigious award recognizes Field Marshal Asim Munir’s distinguished military services and leadership, as well as his pivotal role in strengthening defence cooperation, strategic coordination, and institutional linkages between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. It also reflects his contributions toward regional peace and stability, including sustained cooperation in counter-terrorism and security.

The Saudi leadership lauded the professional excellence and strategic vision of Field Marshal Asim Munir and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the long-standing, brotherly ties between the two countries.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi leadership for the honour, terming it a reflection of the enduring and time-tested relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to the security, stability, and prosperity of the Kingdom.

The conferment of the King Abdulaziz Medal (Excellent Class) underscores the depth of Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relations and the shared resolve of both nations to further enhance strategic cooperation in pursuit of regional and global peace.
