FBR Reduces Customs Value of Used Mobile Phones, Providing Relief to Consumers and Importers

Islamabad (HRNW)- The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released the revised customs value of used mobile phones imported from abroad.

The new and lower rates will reduce the PTA tax levied on a total of 62 models of 4 major brands. According to reports, the customs value of phones of a well-known brand has been reduced by 32 percent to 89 percent.

Valuation officials said that in the previous procedure, clearance was delayed due to overpricing, under-invoicing and grading of used phones, which was burdening the consumers.

The implementation of the new value agency will provide financial relief to both importers and consumers of used mobile phones.
