Karachi (HRNW)- Qamaruddin, 80, son of Saifullah, died in a fire at a house near Noorani Masjid in Orangi Town, Sector 8. The body of the deceased was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
According to SHO Arshad Ali Khan, the deceased was a habitual smoker and after having dinner, he went to his room and was smoking a cigarette when the bed caught fire.
When the family arrived, Qamaruddin was severely burned and was being shifted to the hospital in a critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
The SHO further said that the scene was inspected and the deceased’s cot and bed were completely burnt due to the fire, while the police are seeking more information from the family.
