Court Orders FIR for Missing Person in Orangi Town and Seeks Updates on Other Disappearances

Karachi, Pakistan (HRNW)- During hearings on petitions regarding missing persons, the court directed authorities to register a case for a citizen who went missing in Orangi Town. The government’s counsel informed the court that the FIR has not yet been lodged, while the petitioner’s lawyer stated that all details had been provided and law enforcement officers had taken the citizen into custody.

The court asked the petitioner whether they wanted to proceed with filing the case, to which the government counsel responded that the FIR would be registered today at the police station.

The lawyers and petitioners for Muhammad Yousuf from Sachal and Shams from Gabol Town were not present in court. The court instructed that all legal representatives must appear at the next hearing.

Officials reported that Imran from Malir and Najeebullah from Quaidabad are currently in jail. The court disposed of their petitions regarding disappearance cases but requested a progress report on the recovery of missing person Bashir Ahmed.

The court has adjourned all petitions until February 12.
