Court Issues Notices to Sindh Government and KMC in Gul Plaza Case

Karachi, Pakistan (HRNW)- During hearings on petitions filed against the Gul Plaza tragedy, the court has issued notices to the Sindh government, Commissioner Karachi, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), and other relevant parties. The court has directed the Commissioner Karachi to submit a detailed report by February 10.

Petitioners informed the court that Gul Plaza is one of Karachi’s busiest commercial centers, where the tragic incident resulted in loss of human lives. Advocate Nadeem Sheikh requested that those responsible for the tragedy be identified and held accountable, while highlighting the failures of the relevant institutions.

The petition further demanded that the government assess the financial losses and provide compensation to the victims. Barrister Hassan urged the court to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and ensure effective legal action against the responsible parties.

The court has adjourned the hearing until February 12 and has sought responses to the notices from all concerned authorities.
