Belo (HRNW) – At least 17 people have been killed and 20 injured after a bus plunged into a deep ravine in Colombia. Among the dead were 16 high school students and the bus driver.
According to the international news agency, the dead students were between 16 and 18 years old and belonged to a school in the city of Belo, near Medellin. The students were traveling to the Caribbean coastal regions of Tolu and Covinas to celebrate their graduation when the tragic accident occurred.
The injured in the accident are being immediately transferred to local hospitals for medical treatment, while authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the causes of the accident.
