Lahore (HRNW) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered the early completion of new hospitals across the province and directed authorities to expedite healthcare projects.
The Chief Minister has instructed that the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Research Center and the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology in Lahore be opened within this month. The basement and ground floor of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research Center have already been completed, along with the patients’ waiting area, mosque, and doctors’ residences.
Pakistan’s first Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research Center will formally begin operations this month. Recruitment of doctors and professional staff is underway, and interviews have been conducted for 219 positions. It has also been decided to re-advertise the post for the appointment of the head of the institute.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has further directed that the reconstruction of Lady Willingdon Hospital be completed at the earliest. She stated that every cancer patient coming from across Pakistan will be provided treatment at the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research Center.
