Karachi (HRNW)– Chairman New Karachi Town Muhammad Yousuf made a detailed visit to different sectors of the town and carefully inspected the ongoing development works under the 600 Streets Project. He briefed the concerned officers about the speed, quality and overall progress of the installation of paver blocks in Sector 11-J, 11-E, 11-L and other areas. On this occasion, PAU chairmen, vice chairmen, councilors and local residents were also present in large numbers who apprised the chairman about the problems of their areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Muhammad Yousuf said that the ongoing 600 Streets Project in New Karachi Town is the biggest and most important development project in the history of the town, which aims to provide sustainable, strong and modern infrastructure to the citizens. He said that the installation of paver blocks will not only enhance the beauty of the streets but will also effectively reduce the problems of drainage during the rains.

He said that we want to see our town shining and in the form of a complete model town, for this all development works are being completed according to the highest standards of quality, any kind of negligence or haste is unacceptable. He added that development works are going on rapidly in 600 streets and efforts are being made to provide the best facilities to the people as soon as possible. The Chairman also visited different streets and reviewed the level of pure block, covering, drainage system and sanitation arrangements.

He directed the officers to remove any deficiency immediately and solve the problems faced by the citizens on priority basis. During the visit, Chairman Muhammad Yousuf also expressed deep sorrow and sympathy to the parents over the tragic incident of an innocent child who died after falling into a sewer in Karachi.
He said that the loss of an innocent child like this is a heartbreaking tragedy for the entire city. We share the pain that the parents are going through. He directed the concerned institutions to tighten the supervision of manhole covers, replace broken covers immediately and regularly monitor sewer lines so that such incidents can be prevented in the future. He said that along with development projects, the protection of people’s lives and property is the top priority and any negligence of any institution is intolerable.
