British Doctors Announce 14th Strike in 2 Years Over Pay Dispute

London (HRNW) – British doctors have announced their 14th strike in 2 years to demand a pay rise, starting on Wednesday.

The British Medical Association said in a statement that a 5-day strike by doctors in England will take place this week. The British Medical Association has also rejected the new offer made by the government.

The resident doctors’ strike will begin at 7 am on Wednesday. In this regard, the Health Secretary says that this move will be irresponsible and dangerous because hospitals are under pressure from the flu.

It is worth noting that the majority of British Medical Association members have voted in favor of the strike, with 83% of BMA members voting in favor of the strike in an online poll.

According to international media reports, British resident doctors announced a five-day strike earlier this month in favor of demands before Christmas. The strike will be held from December 17 to 22.

According to the head of the Resident Doctors Committee, the British government has failed to increase the salaries of doctors.

The head of the committee said that the government has failed to present a credible plan to address the crisis in doctors’ jobs, so there is no other option but to go on strike.
