Karachi (HRNW): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the life of Daughter of the East, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, was a rare blend of courage and compassion, and that her great sacrifice stands as a blood-written pledge that democracy in Pakistan will never surrender.
In a message issued on the 18th death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, the PPP chairman said that she was not merely a political leader, but a fearless voice of democracy, a beacon of hope for the oppressed, and an unbreakable symbol of resistance against dictatorship, extremism, and intolerance.
Bilawal Bhutto stated that despite facing immense challenges during her tenure as Prime Minister, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto promoted people-friendly policies, strengthened Pakistan’s defense, safeguarded national sovereignty, and restored the country’s progressive and dignified image on the global stage.
Paying tribute to her sacrifices, he said that despite witnessing the martyrdom of her father and brothers and enduring years of suffering and persecution, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto remained steadfast in her struggle for democracy till her last breath, ultimately embracing martyrdom in the cause of the people and the nation.
