Karachi (HRNW)- The Anti-Corruption Establishment conducted a surprise raid in the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Shah Faisal Town and conducted a detailed inspection of various departments. The operation was led by Adeel Ahmed Sahu, Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Establishment, District Korangi, while Assistant Director Masroor Ahmed Kalhoro was part of the team as an inquiry officer.
The raid was carried out on the orders of Director General Anti-Corruption Sindh Imtiaz Abro, during which records of various departments including Property Tax, Education, Director Land/LTR, Health and Sanitation, Parks, B&R (Road Cutting), M&E, Audit and Administration were examined.
The anti-corruption team also reviewed file work, attendance of officers and staff and ongoing development and administrative matters. Explanations were sought from the concerned officers when alleged irregularities were revealed in some departments during the inspection.
According to anti-corruption officials, the aim of the operation is to ensure transparency in government institutions, eradicate corruption and enable proper, legal and effective use of public resources. After a detailed analysis of the records obtained, action will be taken against the responsible officers as per the law.
On this occasion, Deputy Director Adeel Ahmed Sahu said that such surprise visits by the anti-corruption establishment will continue in the future.
Director General Anti-Corruption Sindh Imtiaz Abro said that any kind of negligence or corruption will not be tolerated and strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in corruption.
