Karachi (HRNW): The rising tide of street crime in the provincial capital has claimed another victim. A 25-year-old youth, identified as Muhammad Askari, was shot dead during an armed robbery in the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri area of North Karachi.
According to police officials, the incident occurred when armed assailants attempted to rob the victim. Upon encountering resistance, the criminals opened fire indiscriminately. Muhammad Askari sustained fatal injuries and passed away on the spot, while a bystander was also hit by a bullet and wounded. The injured person was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Police contingents reached the crime scene shortly after the incident to collect evidence. Authorities stated that an investigation is underway from multiple angles, and search operations have been intensified. Law enforcement is also scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify and apprehend the culprits.
