Karachi (HRNW)– Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon delivered a fiery and uncompromising political statement, saying that while some individuals dream of power with questionable motives, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always upheld democratic values. He emphasized that PPP’s narrative has consistently been rooted in national interest and strengthened through immense sacrifices.
Sharjeel Memon said the party takes pride in its legacy. Over the past 58 years, PPP has faced conspiracies and relentless media trials, yet it never abandoned its principles. He recalled that President Asif Ali Zardari spent 12 years in jail without conviction, while PPP leaders embraced gallows and bravely fought terrorism. He added that PPP is the only party that has sacrificed countless lives for the homeland — and will continue doing so for generations.
Turning to India, he stated that Pakistan gave India a humiliating defeat, shooting down its jet and sending the captured pilot back after serving him tea. He said India portrays itself as a global power, but its ambitions hold no value. Pakistan’s armed forces have ensured that India faces disgrace internationally and stands exposed on the world stage.

He noted that Pakistan continues to fight terrorism and tackle major challenges, yet its forces have never stepped back. “We have lost our true heroes, including Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto — one of Pakistan’s greatest assets,” he said.
Discussing domestic politics, Sharjeel Memon said Bilawal Bhutto will come into power with the support of the people, as the constitution offers clear solutions to every national issue. Commenting on political uncertainty, he said no one knows “whose sherwani is being stitched,” and the appointment of the governor remains a federal matter.
Sharjeel Memon sharply criticized PTI founder Imran Khan, stating that he is receiving good food and all facilities in jail, and no torture is taking place. He accused Imran Khan of conspiring against the country and seeking help from hostile nations. He advised PTI members to fight their cases in courts instead of dragging state institutions into controversy.
Speaking about Karachi, he said the city was once ahead of Dubai — even before Pakistan’s creation, trams operated in Karachi. However, he said the city was deliberately handed over to Altaf Hussain, which led to the rise of heroin culture, extortion gangs, and the horrific trend of bodies found in sacks. He added that the Sindh government is now working on cleaning the city and advancing major water projects for its residents.
