Alarming Rise in Suicides Among Israeli Soldiers

The Palestinian Information Center attributes this rise to increasing psychological pressure on soldiers after the war, which started on 7 October 2023.

Key statistics include:

  • From 7 October 2023 until the end of that year, seven active-duty soldiers took their own lives.
  • In 2024, an additional 21 soldiers committed suicide.
  • Since the beginning of 2025, at least 20 soldiers have reportedly taken their lives.

Prior to the war, the Israeli military recorded an average of 12 suicides per year. Current figures suggest that this rate has now nearly doubled.
