Kabul (HRNW)- Former Afghan Finance Minister Anwarul Haq Ahadi has warned that the Afghan economy is in a severe crisis following the return of the Taliban to power. In an interview with Afghanistan International, he called the Taliban government’s claims of economic development baseless.
Ahadi highlighted that state institutions are monopolized by Taliban-backed individuals, there is no clear legal framework for investment, and security and trained human resources for investors are lacking. He further noted that international sanctions and unclear economic policies have worsened the situation, leaving Afghanistan’s future increasingly uncertain.
