Beijing (HRNW)- A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck northwestern China’s Gansu Province, causing panic among people.
The China Earthquake Networks Center said that a 5.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Tebu County, Gannan Tibet Autonomous Prefecture, northwestern China’s Gansu Province, yesterday.
According to local authorities, more than 20,000 residents of the county have been evacuated to safe places as a precautionary measure, while no casualties have been reported in the affected areas so far.
Immediately after the earthquake, public security agencies intensified relief activities and dispatched 350 officers for search and rescue operations.
