Dera Ismail Khan (HRNW) — In Hashmi Town, Grid Road, under the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station, three armed men attacked two brothers at their grocery shop over a dispute regarding borrowed money, resulting in one brother, Inamullah Bettani, being fatally shot and the other, Jumrood Khan Bettani, injured.
According to the police report filed by Jumrood Khan Bettani (25), he and his 18-year-old brother Inamullah were at their shop when Tariq, his brother Mumtaz Khan, and Tariq’s son on a motorcycle, armed with pistols, arrived. The assailants entered the shop in the evening and assaulted both brothers with kicks and pistol butts.

During the attack, Tariq’s brother reportedly struck Jumrood on the face with a pistol, injuring him, while Tariq’s son held Inamullah, and Tariq fired at them, hitting Inamullah in the chest. Inamullah was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries, while Jumrood survived with wounds.
Police confirmed that the motive behind the attack was a dispute over repayment of borrowed goods, and a case has been registered with an investigation underway.
