Karachi (HRNW) — Pakistan Customs successfully foiled two attempts to smuggle gold at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
According to officials, during two separate operations, 10 gold bars weighing a total of 100 tola along with USD 11,900 were recovered. The gold and foreign currency were seized from passengers traveling to Dubai and Istanbul.
The combined value of the seized items is approximately PKR 50,682,000 (5 crore 6 lakh 82 thousand rupees).
Cases have been registered under the Customs Act, and legal action against the accused is underway.
