Karachi (HRNW) — A two-day Flower Show to mark the arrival of spring was inaugurated on Saturday at Karachi Press Club, organized in collaboration with Gulberg Town. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, Chairman Gulberg Town Nusratullah, President Karachi Press Club Fazil Jameeli, Vice President Irshad Khokhar, Secretary Aslam Khan, Treasurer Imran Ayub, Joint Secretary Farooq Sami, and former secretaries Rizwan Bhatti and Shoaib Ahmed.
The ceremony also saw participation from Governing Body members Abdul Jabbar Nasir, Shima Siddiqui, Fareed Alam, Javed Mehr, DG Parks Gulberg Town Nadeem Hanif, senior journalists, and a large number of Press Club members.
In his speech, Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad said that Karachi is a city full of lights, colors, and life, but unfortunately its positive image has often been overshadowed. He emphasized that flower shows and cultural events play a key role in highlighting the city’s beauty. He added that in a large city like Karachi, such floral exhibitions should not be limited to the Press Club, but also organized in other areas to allow citizens to enjoy the beauty of nature.
Chairman Gulberg Town Nusratullah said that flowers symbolize love, peace, and beauty. Promoting such activities in Karachi will provide positive recreation for citizens and improve the overall environment of the city. He congratulated the Karachi Press Club management for organizing the spectacular Flower Show.
President Karachi Press Club Fazil Jameeli highlighted that the Press Club is not only a hub for journalists but also a center for literary, cultural, and social activities. He said the Flower Show aims to provide a pleasant and positive environment for journalists and their families and is an essential step toward enhancing the city’s image. He concluded: “Let us all work together to make this city of lights also a city of flowers, fragrances, and colors.”
