Folk singer Sain Zahoor visits Lahore Arts Council

Lahore (HRNW)- The famous folk singer Sain Zahoor visited Lahore Arts Council, here on Tuesday at Alhamra Arts Centre, The Mall.

During his visit, he met Executive Director Alhamra Saman Rai for discussing mutual issues related to art and artists community. On occasion, Sain Zahoor said Alhamra is the best platform for the promotion of art and music; lots of great and beautiful memories are associated with Alhamra. He further said that the people of Lahore love folk music. The audience of Alhamra is very lively whenever I perform in; people gave a lot of love said Zahoor. He also expressed his best wishes for the newly appointed Executive Director, Saman Rai.

Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Saman Rai said that there is no doubt that the Well-known singer Sain Zahoor is a noteworthy reference and valuable asset of Pakistani folk music industry. Rai said that renowned folk singer Sain Zahoor is one of the very few singers who have dedicated their entire lives for the promotion of high-quality music Sain Zahoor’s through his music and songs have highlighted our values in the world. His services in the field of music are truly commendable, Alhamra will continue to organized such events to invite him to perform in future, she added.

Moreover, a meeting was held to review art & culture related activities here on Tuesday at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall.

The meeting was chaired by Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Saman Rai. Addressing the briefing session, Saman Rai said that the purpose of this meeting is to congratulate Alhamra’s staff for putting in their maximum efforts to promote cultural activities during Covid-19. Rai further said that. “We are optimistic and determined to make “Alhamra” one of the best places to exhibit all kind of talent, especially our young and amateur artists. She stated that students who had just begun to learn arts professionally are always welcomed and encouraged at Alhamra.”

During the meeting, a three-member committee has been formed for the selection of the 16th Young Artists Exhibition. The committee include renowned artists Dr Rahat Naveed Masood, Qudus Mirza and R. M. Naeem. Committee will select ten best artworks which will be got cash prizes of 10 thousand for each, shields and certificates of appreciation will also be given to the artists.

Director Arts and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, Assistant Director Admin Syed Khuram Naveel, curator Alhamra Art Museum Hajra Mehmood Assistant Fine Arts and other officers also present at the event.
