Residents of PCSIR Society staged peaceful protest against ex-administrator Ejaz Shah

Karachi (HRNW)- Residents of PCSIR Society in Scheme-33, Gulzare-e-Hijri, Friday staged a peaceful protest against the Aministrator of the society and its so called Secretary to demonstrate their disgust against recent incidents of firing, water shortage, thefts and other safety and security related issues.and illegal acts of the Administrator

Dozens of residents carrying banners inscribed with slogans for ensuring security and safety of the
residents. They maintained social distancing as part of protective measures against Corona virus.

Presently the residents of the Society are in a grip of fear due to looming safety and security
related issues as well as maladministration and malpractices on the part of office-bearers, vested
interests of Administrator Aijaz Ali Shah and so called secretary Bashir Ahmed and his sons.

It may be mentioned here that Gulzar-e–Hijri police have registered a FIR lodged by the residents of PCSIR Society against firing incidents and safety and security lapses. The said Secretary and his sons have obtained pre-arrest bail from the Court of Additional Sessions Judge Malir in the FIR No 404 of 2020 under section 147/148/149/337-HI/506-/B-504/109/337-Al/337 PPC in Police
Station Sachal. The Court granted pre-arrest bail in the sum of Rs 25,000 each only.

The Court directed the SHO Sachal Police to submit complete papers of the case on 29-5-2020 when the accused/petitoners will also appear before the court.

It may be mentioned here that firing incident in the society took place after a scuffle between the
Secretary and his sons with residents of the society when they protested against series of issues of safety,security, water shortage, burglaries etc.

It is alleged that two sons of Secretary are employees of DMC South who called a group from nearby Abbas Town and they resorted to firing resulting in harassment among the residents including women and children.

The Society residents have appealed to DG Rangers and IGP Sindh to take steps to save them from continuous threats and intimidation by the Secretary and his sons.

The accused the Society’s managers for mismanagement and embezzlement of funds which when pointed out by residents, they turned angry and resorted to vandalism. They leveled similar charges against the Society Administrator and alleged they minted millions of rupees through various illegal means and illegal conversion of plots for school, ground, dispensary etc into residential and commercial.

The residents have also urged the Director General Cooperative Societies as well as provincial Minister Cooperation to order an inquiry into the matter and remove the Administrator prior too start of inquiry.

According to the HRNW an investigation after process of inquiry as per exercise of the NAB is also in process, but said ex-administrator holding his unlawful control upon society despite of removal from the Co-operation Department. It came to know that the secretary Co-operation department, minister and high-officials are patronizing the Ejaz Shah, ex-administrator due to his alleged connection with top slot of Pakistan Peoples Party.

The illegal exercise by the ex-administrator namely Ejaz Shah and his companions in order to grab the society is also spoiling the reputation of sitting provincial minister Mr. Ikramullah Dharejo as well due to his continuous over look and failure to taking over the charge from ex-administrator of PCSIR housing society.
