Government failed to take timely actions to contain coronavirus: Siraj ul Haq

Lahore (HRNW) – Jamaat Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq on Monday said government failed to take effective and timely actions against Coronavirus. He added the time is not for politics. Minimum amount to aid the poor should be set to Rs15, 000, he said.

Siraj opined government’s control over prices of daily usage products has ended and won’t be able to afford any mistake. About the relief amount of Rs3, 000 per month he said if Prime Minister can run his household with this amount, he should be awarded nobel prize.

Earlier talking to media, he warned the government that lives of doctors, paramedics and volunteers fighting with coronavirus in public and private sectors were in danger since the government had not provided them with protective kits, N-95 masks, gloves and other gear despite promises.

He lamented that delay in protecting the frontline soldiers in the war against the epidemic proved the insincerity and failure of the government.
