Saeed Ghani asks PTI to clarify its position over MQM demand of new provinces in Sindh

Karachi (HRNW)- Sindh Minister for Information, Archives and Labor Saeed Ghani on Saturday while censuring the demand made by Muttahida Qaumi Movement of creating more provinces in Sindh said that MQM was promoting anti-Sindh politics in the province. Saeed Ghani said that the MQM wanted to create insecurity amongst the Urdu speaking people just to fulfill their ulterior motives. The Minister said this while addressing a press conference on Saturday. He said that the Sindh government strongly condemned this illogical, irrational and absurd demand of the MQM. Saeed Ghani asked the members of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf to clarify their position on this unfounded demand of the MQM. Their silence over the issue was creation suspicion. The provincial Minister for Information said that the bill tabled by the MQM would never pass from any of the assemblies in the country. He said that the Sindh Assembly was explicitly clear over the issue and had passed resolutions against the creation of any new province in Sindh. Saeed Ghani said that he considered present Inspector General of Sindh Police a levelheaded person before the recent letter he wrote to Sindh Chief Secretary. The Minister said that after this letter he considered him an irresponsible and inconsistent officer. He clarified that the Inspector General of Police had the authority only to transfer an officer who was already working in the province. Whereas, who would be transferred from other province and from Sindh was the prerogative of the provincial government, he added. The Minister said that Inspector General of Police had no authority to demand the federal government for officers of his choice. Saeed Ghani termed the approach of Dr. Syed Kaleem Iman towards his official responsibilities inconsistent. The provincial minister said that the IGP at his moment in time was praising the same officer about whom he had quite negative opinion in the past. He mentioned Deputy Inspector General of Sindh Police Khadim Ridn in this regard. He said that the IGP Sindh wanted to make a mockery of the Sindh Police. Saeed Ghani said that in Punjab with months five Inspectors General of Police had been transferred but no one ever wrote a letter to anyone in this regard. But Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam first wrote a letter on 2nd of November 2018 in which he demanded for the transfer of four officers. Later on Nov 26th he wrote another letter demanding the same. Provincial Minister for Information said that the IGP had categorized the police officers. Saeed Ghani said that he didn’t know on whose signals the IGP Sindh Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam was working. The provincial minister said that he was responding to the letter of the IGP only after it had been leaked to the media before reaching us.
