PCG Seizes huge quantity of Hashish and contraband items

Karachi (HRNW)- Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) seized a huge quantity of Hashish from Gwadar and contraband items at Naka Khari Check Post on RCD Highway near Windar (Balochistan).
On the special instructions of DG Pakistan Coast Guards about zero tolerance in the smuggling of Narcotics, PCG has intensified its efforts to curb the menace of drug trafficking from its area of responsibility. On credible information from intelligence resources about the smuggling of narcotics in general area Gwadar, and on RCD Highway, During last a week following seizures were carried out by PCG Special Mobile Patrol.
1. In Gwadar, PCG Special Mobile Patrol detected a suspicious vehicle in general area Talar on Turbat road. On seeing the PCG mobile Patrol the drug traffickers managed to flee away taking advantage of fog and darkness in the mountainous terrain. Later on the PCG patrolling team recovered 1770 kilograms of fine quality of Hashish dumped in the desolate mountainous area.
2. On Naka Khari Check Post (Windar), During checking of a Car, PCG officials recovered 09 Kilograms of fine quality of Opium hidden under secret cavities of vehicle and arrested a drug trafficker.
3. On Naka Khari Check Post (Windar), PCG officials seized contraband items,
2,305 Kgs Betel Nut, 1175 pkts Indian Gutka, 120 pkts Naswar, 136 Bags China salt, 93 Tyre of different of vehicles and Cigarette.
Approximately value of contraband items and Hashish in the market is Rs. 1956.86 Millions.
Further investigation and legal process is under way, Spokesperson said.
